I would have laid him out if I was the pitcher, was not even close. Hate to see how bad life gets for that ump.

Good shot Bob..... and the funny thing was the Cleveland runner once he was called safe had his hands on his head in disbelief. Miguel Cabrera was talking non stop to him after that call. Leyland should have gotten himself thrown out on that.

Galaraga is a better man than me, all he did was laugh it off, I would have been escorted off by police.

I've seen some bad calls, but the situation defines that as possibly the worst call in the last 10 years of MLB.

OK, I saw where the ump said he blew it, but what was the reason he did?
Did he think the throw was late?
I know umps make that call based on hearing the "thump" before the runner gets there, but a sno-cone doesn't thump.
Or was it becasuse he saw a bobble? I don't watch enough to know if that woulda been safe or out by an avg. ump.

The scorer could say the runner reached based because the ball wasn't secured properly by the fielder, and change the hit to an E-1.

I think MLB will take a major hit if Selig doesn't overturn it.
